The Taylor YMCA After-Schoo
l Achievement Academy has made it possible for my daughter, Jackie to be involved in a very positive environment packed full of fun and educational activities ran by caring staff. I have recently separated from Jackie’s father due to his involvement with activities that were not safe for me and my children to be around. I wanted a program that would teach Jackie positive values, help her with homework and provide her with positive role models. I am pleased to say that my daughter has increased her reading and math grades and has had no missing homework assignments this year. I am also very grateful for the financial assistance that has been provided to me. This has made everyday living expenses more affordable and as a family, we are able to do things that couldn't be done before. Thank you United Way for supporting the YMCA!
Thanks for being there for my son
I want to first say “Thanks” to the Taylor YMCA Staff for everything they have done for my son. You all have been a blessing to us. Recently my husband passed away and it has been very hard on my son John. The Before & After-School program is a wonderful program and John loves it. He comes home excited every night and never wants to leave when I pick him up. John is an only child so it’s like a big brother/sister program for him. He is building self-esteem, developing leadership skills and his grades have increased. Because of the home work assistance your program provides daily, John’s missing homework assignments have decreased. I love the program and all of the diverse activities you provide. The YMCA After-School program has been a blessing to my son and me.
